Abstract: Abstract This chapter discusses some of the key factors that influence leadership in arts organisations. This includes organisational characteristics (e.g. understanding of HRM, dual leadership concepts) as well as key characteristics of employees (e.g. heterogeneity of work areas and tasks) and leaders (e.g. uncertainties about leadership roles, challenges of self-leadership) in arts organisations.
