Chapter Chapter 9 in A Guide to Robust Statistical Methods, 2023, pp 241-263 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter deals with measures of association, how inferences about these measures of association might be made, plus methods for comparing measures of association. Included is a method for making inferences about which of the two independent variables is more important when both independent variables are included in a linear model. There is also the issue of whether say the first of two independent variables, taken together, have a stronger association with the dependent variable compared to the association between the third dependent variable and the independent variable.
