Abstract: Abstract In 2009, Islam had 1.57 billion adherents, representing 23% of the world’s population. Three hundred million Muslims live in countries where it is not the majority religion; 60% of global Muslims live in Asia and 20% live in the Middle East and Africa. It is one of three monotheistic, Abrahamic religions, the others being Christianity and Judaism.
