Chapter Chapter 15 in Computational Intelligence Applied to Inverse Problems in Radiative Transfer, 2023, pp 157-167 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, the method called Firefly Algorithm (FA) is described, including a brief history, the algorithm, and its application to the inverse radiative transfer problem, for the determination of the optical thickness, single scattering albedo, and diffuse reflectivities in the internal part of the boundary surfacesBoundarysurfaces of one-dimensional homogeneous participating mediaParticipatingmedia. Two variants of the FA method are also presented: FAEP – Firefly with epidemic predation and FAcom – Firefly with fuzzy strategyFireflywith fuzzy strategy (fuzzy and center of mass). Additionally, the three approaches FA, FAEP, and FAcom are used to obtain estimates for the scattering and absorption coefficients in two-layer one-dimensional heterogeneous participating media.
