The Asset Map: A Shortcut to Understanding Property Holdings

Ian Ball, Willem Buiter, John Crompton, Dag Detter and Jacob Soll

Chapter 13 in Public Net Worth, 2024, pp 181-190 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The “Asset Map” is a quick, low-cost solution to finding the hidden assets and understanding the indicative value of the portfolio of assets. Its purpose is not to replace proper accounting but to generate the political will that will set the transition to professional management of assets in motion. It is a practical first step that will enable the design of a strategy to identify and capture value from the portfolio of commercial assets.
