Abstract Simple textbook definitions and examples of hedging use single positions and specific hedges. If a trader is long 35,000 mt of Jet fuel which he going to sell using Platts US Gulf Jet Fuel prices for the average of December 2022, he sells 35,000 mt of December 2022 Platts US Gulf Jet swaps. If the trader also has a position in Singapore where he is short 35,000 mt of Jet fuel which he will buy using December 2022 Platts Singapore Jet Fuel (Kero) prices, he buys 35,000 mt of December 2022 Platts Singapore Jet Fuel (Kero) swaps.
