Chapter Chapter 3 in Digital Transformation in Accounting and Auditing, 2024, pp 61-104 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The current impact of technology and changing lifestyles on businesses cannot be ignored. Information technology has become a crucial aspect of business operations, enabling the efficient capture and analysis of large volumes of data, thereby enhancing competitiveness. Accounting and auditing professionals must now have technical expertise, and financial education programs must incorporate technology knowledge to meet this need. The authors illustrated the relevance of digital transformation in various sectors, including retail, healthcare, and finance. Digitalization in the public sector can enable accounting and auditing professionals to offer improved citizen-centric services. This chapter explores current and evolving digitalization, underlining the significance of information technology in financial services, especially accounting and auditing.
