Chapter Chapter 11 in Islamic Financial Institutions from the Early Modern Period to the 20th Century, 2024, pp 199-201 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Conclusion provides a synthesis of the diverse historical narratives presented throughout the book. This part summarizes the key findings and insights derived from the historical development of cash waqf organizations, offering a comprehensive perspective of their roles within the broader context of Islamic finance. By drawing on comparative perspectives, the chapter indicates similarities and differences, revealing the dynamic nature of Islamic financial organizations and distinct European organizations over time. Additionally, the conclusion argues potential contributions for future research, encouraging scholars to focus on specific aspects of cash waqf organizations and other dimensions of Islamic finance. The question of why cash waqfs as privately funded organizations were delayed in turning public banks in Europe has emerged as an important problem.
