Chapter Chapter 4 in A Spectral Theory Of Noncommuting Operators, 2024, pp 65-91 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Consider a Banach algebra ℬ $${\mathcal B}$$ with unit I. The classical spectrum of an element A ∈ ℬ $$A\in {\mathcal B}$$ is the set σ ( A ) = { λ ∈ ℂ ∣ A − λ I is not invertible in ℬ } $$\sigma (A)=\{\lambda \in {\mathbb C} \mid \ A-\lambda I\ \text{is not invertible in }{\mathcal B}\}$$ , and it is one of the main subjects in operator theory.
