Abstract: Abstract Welcome to the Springer Math Podcast. This month, we’re delighted to host Alessio Figalli, the Director of the Institute for Mathematical Research at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. A distinguished academic, Professor Figalli completed his PhD at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, Italy, and at the Ecole Normale Superieure of Lyon, France. His research has taken him across France, the United States, and Switzerland. His notable contributions to the theory of optimal transport have earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Fields Medal in 2018, and the European Mathematical Society Prize in 2012.
