Chapter 31 in The Palgrave Companion to Harvard Economics, 2024, pp 755-775 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Benjamin Friedman’s career is inextricably linked to Harvard: four years as an undergraduate, another four years in the PhD programme, and 50 years (and counting) on the Harvard faculty. This chapter describes his professional trajectory, takes stock of a body of scholarly work that is remarkable in terms of both depth and breadth, and identifies the key ideas that underlie his diverse lines of inquiry.
