Abstract: Abstract We are a long way from believing that the mind is a “tabula rasa,” a blank slate. We know now that much is in fact innate, i.e., under genetic influence. The purpose of this chapter is to help those who wish to read the rapidly expanding literature in genetic epidemiology. Thus, it is an overview of the basic designs and statistics used in this area; it is not comprehensive, nor is it highly technical.
