Chapter Chapter 8 in Crony Comprador Capitalism, 2024, pp 299-311 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter offers a comprehensive summary of the internal tensions within China’s crony comprador capitalism and its relationship to the crisis of global capitalism. The author calls for the West to decouple from an illiberal, semi-peripheral China, advocating against the continuous compradorization of China. Instead, the author proposes a reevaluation of globalization and the promotion of democracy to pave the way for China’s transformation into a pacific “democratic developmental state.” This transformation would contribute to making the world a more secure place for democracy.
