Regular Expressions for Python

Sunil Kumar ()

Chapter Chapter 3 in Python for Accounting and Finance, 2024, pp 31-57 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Regular expressions (regex) are a powerful tool used for pattern matching and text manipulation. A regular expression is a sequence of characters that define a search pattern. It is widely used in programming languages such as Python to search and manipulate strings. In other words, regex allows us to specify a pattern of text that we want to match against, and then search for that pattern within a larger body of text.
