A Simple Blockchain Application
S Thomas Zhang ()
Chapter Chapter 4 in The Potential and Limitations of Bitcoin and Ethereum, 2024, pp 39-41 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Discourse on blockchain is focused on applications with two typical features: (1) an associated cryptocurrencycryptocurrency and (2) big impact. Neither is in fact necessary for a plausible blockchain application. This chapter presents a simple blockchain application. It is a hypothetical application called TransChain but one that might well catch on in the future. It uses no cryptocurrency. This example application will then be used to introduce the EBC Pyramid blockchain assessment framework in the next chapter.
