Emancipatory Leadership

Chapter Chapter 6 in Global Majority Leadership, 2024, pp 77-100 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter highlights how several personifications of leadership emerge from across the group of Global Majority leaders in exercising leadership—primarily seen through pioneering acts and Responsible leadership. Resilient, Faith-based, and Benevolent leadership underpins triumph and hope assumptions. This chapter explores how identifying as a Global Majority leader can lead to external support networks using cultural capital in collaborative and Relational leadership. Finally, the chapter examines how important it is for Global Majority leaders to be multilingual and accomplished in cultural literacy in marginalised spaces as a unique and disruptive way to the normalising of White leadership as an exercise of emancipatory leadership enactments.
