Abstract: Abstract This chapter explores the transformative impact of an active-learning participatory model in the context of Telkom University, Indonesia, during the COVID-19 pandemic. It emphasizes the importance of holistic education based on the “four pillars of learning”: being, knowing, doing, and living together. The goal is to foster emotional connections between graduate students and educators, creating an engaging virtual classroom for learning Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities. The chapter extends the concept of the four pillars of learning to promote the evaluation of all 17 SDGs—focusing on SDG 11—through the SDG 11 Rubric Action List. Using the action research method, the study leveraged the virtual classroom environment to enhance Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The findings highlight the pivotal role of digital technologies in achieving ESD objectives. While based on Indonesian graduate students, the author encourages educators across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Indonesia to explore similar approaches. The author, with more than 22 years of experience as a business management educator at Telkom University, Indonesia, provides practical and scientific evidence for enhancing virtual classroom engagement and collaborative efforts toward SDG 11.
