Chapter Chapter 10 in HRM 5.0, 2024, pp 215-237 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In the context of human resource management, relationships and processes which in the past have been carried out in-person are increasingly unfolding in a digital space. This trend towards digitalisation has been exacerbated by the recent COVID-19 pandemic, which forced employers to manage employees remotely. Employee selection, assessment, and participation in decision-making are now largely digitised, especially in larger organisations. In this chapter, we examine how this process of digitalisation has changed the delivery of HR services. We acknowledge the advantages afforded by digitalisation, but also recognise the challenges and make some suggestions for optimising HRM in the coming years.
