Abstract:
Abstract The fashion industry has long been blamed for causing various environmental issues. In recent years, sustainable fashion, which focuses on pursuing positive environmental impacts during the entire fashion production and business operation process, has become a new and evolving concept within the apparel sector. However, the sustainability transformation by adopting and applying AI seems relatively slow and uneven. Two consecutive qualitative studies with respectively 7 (fashion management experts, fashion consultants, and fashion sales directors from Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Estonia) and 10 (sustainable SC managers, directors, experts, and consultants from global technology and consulting companies across Europe, Asia, the United Kingdom, and the United States) semi-structured interviews were conducted to investigate the role of AI, Blockchain, and IoT contributing for the sustainable fashion consumption.
