Abstract:
Abstract This is the introductory chapter of the book: Fostering Long-Term Sustainable Development in Africa: Overcoming Poverty, Inequality, and Unemployment. Many African nations continue to encounter challenges in achieving long-term sustainable development despite recent great accomplishments. This chapter, therefore, captures social, economic, and environmental success stories and challenges related to sustainable development within the context of Africa as an introductory part of this book. To achieve this, this introductory chapter interrogates in detail the issues related to poverty, unemployment, and inequality with the aim to ensure the attainment of inclusive development in Africa. This edited explores the importance of overcoming developmental challenges in the face of a dynamic, complex, and turbulent contemporary operating environment. This chapter also presents the various chapters that constitute this book.
