Chapter Chapter 4 in The Palgrave Handbook on the Economics of Manipulation in Sport, 2024, pp 65-83 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Doping is a ubiquitous phenomenon in every type of sport. However, some cases appear particularly spectacular. At best, available data permit us only to estimate roughly the extent to which doping substances are really used, since on the one hand testing is not comprehensive and only targets substances which are on the negative list, and on the other hand tests do not detect every case of doping abuse.
