Abstract: Abstract Chapter 1 defines the group of the world’s smallest economies within the global context. It provides a general overview of the group and the individual 93 countries classified within it. A substantial portion of the chapter is dedicated to justifying the selection of this specific group of countries and the criteria for this choice.
