Abstract This chapter introduces the concepts of value creation and public value creation, both of which are cornerstones for the relationships between public, private, and nonprofit organizations. The chapter also discusses the forces shaping value creation and explores the appropriation dilemmas that arise when a myriad of stakeholders are involved.
