Abstract:
Abstract This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the Olympic bidding process after the new norm containing in the Agenda 2020 and Agenda 2020+5, focusing on four recent cases: Paris 2024, Milan-Cortina 2026, Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032. Drawing on official documents and bid proposals, the analysis examines how cities addressed key aspects of prioritising existing infrastructure, streamlining the bidding process, promoting collaborative efforts and demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and transparency. Findings reveal strategies employed by each city, in order to use existing venues, improve partnerships and prioritise sustainability initiatives. Despite variations in approach, all bids demonstrated a commitment to reducing reliance on public funds, promoting sustainability and fostering collaboration and transparency.
