Abstract:
Abstract This study aims to evaluate the support of local communities for sustainable tourism development in Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City, using latent variables of community attachment, community participation, perceived benefits, perceived costs, support for sustainable tourism development, and basic data on the population. The results of the analysis show that community cohesion, commitment, and community responsibility are important factors affecting levels of support for development, while differing perceptions of its benefits in turn affect the relationship between community attachment and responsibility. Some of the managerial implications of this study are introduced, and recommendations are made for businesses and local authorities.
