Buddhist Synthesis: Seeing Singularities of Science Via All Things Are Mind Only

S. Niggol Seo

Chapter Chapter 9 in The Economics of Singularities of Science Elucidated with Buddhist Thoughts, 2024, pp 179-209 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter provides a synthesis of the analyses of the five scientific singularities from the Buddhist points of view. Of the Buddha’s vast teachings, the mind-only tenet is employed as the platform for the synthesis. From the viewpoint where all the three realms of the world are mere minds, the five scientific endeavors and singularities are explained. All sentient beings are a mind possessor. The mind is also referred to as consciousness. The mind is a creator of all things as well as all beings. The contributions of scientific endeavors are clarified according to the mind-only philosophy. The five singularities of science such as the origin of the universe, artificial intelligence, mRNA virology, stem cell and human cloning, consciousness creation are largely concerned with the question of the mind.
