CLBDM and the Idea Implementation Creativity Loops
Hassan Qudrat-Ullah
Chapter Chapter 8 in Creativity Loops–Based Decision Making, 2024, pp 149-158 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter presents the fifth step of our framework, CLBDM, which is the idea implementation loop. This step is about making the chosen idea happen, turning it from a thought to a thing. It also involves planning and doing the necessary steps or actions to make the idea work well and fast, using various methods or tools such as project management, change management, stakeholder management, etc. We explain how systems thinking can help in this step of creativity by providing a way to check and measure the results and effects of the idea, allowing for learning and improvement. We also discuss how systems thinking can help to identify the feedback loops and mechanisms that influence the behavior and performance of the idea in the real world, to understand the interrelationships and interactions among the different elements or components of the idea, as well as its environment or context, and to anticipate and deal with potential problems or risks that may arise during or after the implementation of the idea. We use examples from different domains such as education, business, policy-making, etc., to illustrate how these feedback loops work and how they can be used in different scenarios. We hope that this chapter will inspire you to use systems thinking creativity loops and our predefined tools in your own idea implementation process.
