Chapter Chapter 6 in Machine Learning and Mixed Reality for the Enhancement of Cultural Heritage, 2024, pp 91-92 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In conclusion, it can be said that for the safeguarding and especially for the dissemination of a cultural asset, a well-planned workflow is necessary, involving collaboration among various professionals who can ensure a comprehensive and precise territorial survey (as suggested in the first part of the thesis where the planning of cultural asset linkage routes is proposed); a meticulous review of historical and archival documents to serve as a foundation and structure an informative database for subsequent dissemination; proper organization of the survey, which, as extensively studied by the research, can be achieved by exploiting the great potential of low-cost technologies; careful management of the files derived from the survey to digitally reproduce the acquired material; and, finally, an appropriate choice of dissemination means, with Augmented Reality being a prime example. The case study of the State Archives of Naples allowed for the experimentation of this methodology.
