Chapter Chapter 3 in Artificial Intelligence in Accounting and Auditing, 2024, pp 63-89 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In recent decades, artificial intelligence has achieved significant milestones in addressing challenging and long-standing issues in machine learning, computer vision, speech recognition, and autonomous systems. Its rapid growth in research and development has led many organizations to turn to AI to derive business value from the abundance of data and increased computational capacity. However, some organizations struggle to adopt and harness AI due to a lack of understanding of this technology. This chapter aims to provide a comprehensive overview of artificial intelligence, covering the basic concepts, types of AI, underlying technologies, and AI capabilities.
