Chapter Chapter 3 in The Global Housing Crisis, 2024, pp 29-83 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The level of homeownership is in decline, and the number of homeless people is on the rise. The outstanding mortgage loans in the US exceeded USD 20 trillion. Wages are not increasing proportionally compared to inflation. Interest rates are historically high, yet the affordability indices warn us about the new housing crisis. This chapter outlines the global housing market dynamics and highlights the housing industry's risks.
