Abstract: Abstract “I pledge you, I pledge myself, to a new deal for the American people.” These were the words of Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) uttered in 1932, the promise that led to the New Deal he initiated as president. The New Deal was a series of programs and legislative initiatives that helped the USUnited States (US) overcome the pains of the great depression and establish some of the structural components of the current banking and financial system in the US.
