Abstract The MENA region is experiencing a surge in entrepreneurial activities, driven by rapid advancements in AI technology. This chapter explores how startups and AI intersect to fuel entrepreneurship in the region. Beginning with an overview of MENA, the chapter highlights startups’ vital role in economic growth and outlines AI’s transformative potential. It then delves into the current startup landscape, addressing challenges and opportunities, enabling factors crucial for AI startup success, such as funding and talent access, along with an evaluation of government initiatives toward building a sustainable ecosystem. Lastly, the chapter provides insights into future trends and opportunities, stressing MENA startups’ potential in the global AI landscape. By examining the synergies between startups and AI technologies, the aim is to uncover the unique opportunities and challenges facing the region and provide insights into how stakeholders can leverage these synergies to foster sustainable development and prosperity.
