Abstract:
Abstract This chapter characterizes corruption as a significant problem with a society-wide impact. The purpose of this chapter is to characterize the crimes of corruption according to the Criminal Code (2005). This chapter also contains specifics for detecting and proving corruption and a description of indicators of manifestations of corrupt practices. It concludes with an overview of identified corruption offenses in Slovakia over the last 6 years, as well as Slovakia’s position within the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) in 2015 and 2020.
