Chapter Chapter 10 in Startup Valuation, 2024, pp 395-431 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This Chapter illustrates the need for comprehensive valuation metrics for normal businesses that represent a benchmark even for startups. A startup's valuation is a key element in attracting investors and monitoring value growth over time. Your research and analysis play a crucial role in this process. Several appraisal approaches estimate the potential fair market value, ranging from discounted cash flows to market multipliers or income/asset-based methodologies. Valuation incorporates the difficulty of estimating future earnings and cash flows, especially for startups with no track record and uncertain perspectives.
