Chapter Chapter 2 in Innovations in Corporate Reporting, 2025, pp 5-22 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter discusses the critical roles of innovation, digital transformation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern business. Innovation is the process of creating new products, services, or processes that provide value, driving competitiveness and growth. It helps businesses by offering competitive advantages, operational efficiency, and market expansion. Digital innovation, which applies digital technologies to improve business processes and customer experience, has become essential in modern strategies, particularly in areas like automation, cybersecurity, and data-driven decision-making. AI, a subset of IT, enhances business by automating tasks, providing predictive insights, and improving decision-making. It plays a significant role in sectors such as finance, health care, retail, and manufacturing. AI technologies like machine learning, natural language processing, and robotics transform operations, personalizing customer experiences and improving efficiency. The chapter also highlights the synergy between innovation and AI, showing how their integration drives growth and creates new business models. However, challenges like data privacy, ethical concerns, and skill gaps must be addressed. Lastly, the chapter notes that while AI and digital trends are widely adopted, their role in corporate reporting and IT systems is also crucial, enhancing business processes and decision-making.
