Abstract:
Abstract This chapter provides a synthesis of the existing research literature on the knowledge economy. It examines the origins and meanings of the term, how it has been applied in different contexts globally, and the critiques and issues that have been raised. Possible directions for future research are then discussed before some overall conclusions are reached.
