Abstract: Abstract Developments during the Nazi occupation, such as famine, the destruction of infrastructures the occupation loan and hyperinflation, are discussed in this chapter. Foreign assistance and the substitution of the national currency by gold pounds is documented. Political and economic developments before the liberation are discussed as well.
