Chapter Chapter 9 in American Economists and the Greek Economy, 1947-62, 2025, pp 197-213 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This section discusses developments in Greece after the stabilization and up to the association agreement with the European Economic Communities that marks the end of the diminishing American aid to Greece. Monetary policy, the changing landscape of economic thought in Greece and the interaction of Greece with the IMF and the BIS are also discussed. So is the important contribution of Richard Westebbe as an expert. High rates of growth with very low inflation, but at the same time the persistence of structural weaknesses, are the main results of this decade.
