Abstract: Abstract This chapter introduces patent valuation challenges for technology and software patents. It illustrates how these technologies will change the field of intellectual property value models by integrating traditional research methodologies with the latest in artificial intelligence, blockchain, and quantum computing. It explores unique features of patent valuation in emerging fields, such as digital twins, cybersecurity, and data-oriented innovations, and recommends flexible and dynamic approaches. It identifies gaps in the current body of research around established frameworks. It proposes novel approaches to enhance valuation models in terms of keeping pace with the rapid rate of technological evolution.
