Chapter Chapter 16 in Patent Valuation, 2025, pp 561-602 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Emerging technologies are revolutionizing the patent valuation landscape, introducing novel challenges and opportunities. This chapter examines key industries like AI, IoT, green energy, XR, quantum encryption, and the pivotal role of patents in enabling innovation and competition in these sectors. Valuing such technologies using traditional metrics does not do justice to their interdisciplinary and fast-evolving character, necessitating the design of dynamic frameworks integrating modern tools such as AI analytics and blockchain monitoring.
