Chapter Chapter 17 in Dynamical Systems with Applications Using MATLAB®, 2025, pp 349-372 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Poincaré maps are introduced via example using two-dimensional autonomous systems of differential equations. They are used extensively to transform complicated behavior in the phase space to discrete maps in a lower-dimensional space. Unfortunately, this nearly always results in numerical work since analytic solutions can rarely be found.
