Abstract:
Abstract Chapter 4 delves into Qatar’s intriguing involvement in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The BRI, a colossal Chinese-led undertaking spanning across Asia, Europe, and Africa, is dedicated to fostering regional connectivity, economic expansion, and international cooperation. Qatar has exhibited keen interest in the BRI and has actively sought opportunities to engage in its multifaceted ventures. This chapter embarks on an exploration of Qatar’s role within the BRI, deciphering its objectives. It scrutinizes Qatar’s strategic positioning within the BRI, its active participation in a spectrum of projects, and the potential advantages and obstacles that this engagement entails. Moreover, it sheds light on how Qatar’s participation in the BRI aligns with its overarching foreign policy objectives and its ability to shape diplomatic ties with China and neighboring nations in the region.
