Chapter Chapter 1 in Carbon Accounting and Sustainability, Volume II, 2025, pp 1-29 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Climate change, carbon accounting and reporting is just one of the primary components of corporate sustainability development. There are many other dimensions of sustainability such as water resource management, biodiversity protection, environment conservation, industry waste treatment, among other things. Thus, this chapter considers the development of a set of principles of sustainability development based on sustainability science. The focus of the discussion is on definition and objectives of sustainable development and the major considerations for establishing a strategy for sustainability programs and how to incorporate these principles and methodology into day-to-day business operations.
