Chapter Chapter 9 in Digital Transformation and Innovation in Organizations, 2025, pp 217-249 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Digital transformation (DT) emerges as a response to companies’ need to adapt to market dynamics, involving a gradual integration of digital technologies into their core operations. This research focuses on describing the current state of DT in various Colombian business sectors: industrial, commercial, and services. To do so, we employ a descriptive approach using data from the 2020 Information and Communication Technologies survey conducted by National Department of Statistics (DANE). The results provide an overall context of technological adoption by Colombian companies and highlight critical points such as the formalization of strategies for internal ICT management, the implementation of measures aimed at promoting e-commerce, and the integration of telecommuting programs.
