Chapter 1 in Successful Relational Contracting, 2025, pp 1-20 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This introductory chapter explores the evolution of strategic outsourcing relationships. Amid global economic interdependence, where businesses navigate complexities and uncertainties, they seek innovative ways beyond crisis response. Relational contracting emerges as a beacon for sustainable, transparent, and value-generating relationships. In this chapter, we outline the historical context of relational contracts, showcase its value-add, introduce the different types, and how you can find the most appropriate contract model for your situation. We introduce five success factors that enable collaboration, highlighting their role in fostering healthy business relationships. These success factors and a solid methodology are the starting point for good relational contracts.
