Setting Up for Sustainable Success

Chapter 8 in Successful Relational Contracting, 2025, pp 179-194 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In closing, this chapter reflects on the lessons from the 11 case studies discussed, highlighting patterns regardless of culture, region, or industry. We reinforce the red, yellow, and green flags we shared throughout this book and offer some concrete ‘DOs’ to help you prepare your organization for the shift to a relational contract. It provides key considerations to keep in mind as you develop your own relational contract and proposes support tools, assessments, and a checklist to assist along the way. Armed with the knowledge to understand potential root causes, you can more quickly recognize the symptoms that will lead to challenges and then solve them early before they lead to a deterioration of trust in your business relationship. The chapter offers practical insights, suggestions, and tools for a successful transition to relational contracts, emphasizing strategic flexibility.
