Extreme Points, Tangent and Normal Cones, Support, and Closure of Convex Pointed Cones
Paolo d’Alessandro
Chapter Chapter 8 in On Range Space Techniques, Convex Cones, Polyhedra and Optimization in Infinite Dimensions, 2025, pp 159-164 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter we state some pivotal theorems for our purposes. The first establishes the connection between extremality, pointedness of the tangent cone, support, and conical support. Thereafter we tackle the issue of characterizing the closure of a pointed cone.
