Chapter Chapter 4 in Critical Issues Facing America, 2025, pp 71-104 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter on Race, Politics, and Economics is central to the issues facing Black Americans. All Americans other than the Native Americans are here as the result of voluntary immigration to this country. Black Americans were brought here against their will, and laws from the founding of the country were designed to maintain their second class status. The legacy of slavery still plays a large role in current policies and circumstances. This chapter reviews those powerful dynamics.
