Chapter Chapter 7 in Sustainability in Business Management, Volume 1, 2025, pp 179-212 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Stakeholder engagement has been central to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability initiatives, as demonstrated in numerous contemporary studies, which underscores how businesses must move beyond profit maximization and embrace stakeholder-oriented models to enhance long-term sustainability and reputation. Today, stakeholder engagement is recognized to be an essential and transformative concept in sustainable business management. It marks a departure from the traditional shareholder-centric model to a broader, more inclusive approach. Businesses today are no longer focused solely on maximizing shareholder value; they are instead building meaningful relationships with employees, suppliers, investors, local communities, governments, and society at large.
