Epilogue
Peter de Haan
Chapter Chapter 10 in Great Economists and the Evolution of Economic Liberalism, 2025, pp 317-321 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The book ends with this chapter in which liberalism’s prospects—in its political and economic dimension—are considered. Given contemporary political and economic developments, these prospects are not favourable—liberalism is under threat. Yet the epilogue ends with a ray of hope: ‘Time will tell whether or not liberal democracy, including liberal economic policies, will overcome the threats and, once again, prevail.’
